Start place-shifting your app-reported location.
Choose the privacy location you want apps and websites to see. Use the Chrome extension today, set up Android Lite mode, and join the $9.99/month beta for stronger supported-device Advanced builds as they release.
What place-shifting means
When a supported app or website asks for location, Private Phone Location is designed to provide your selected privacy location instead of your true physical location. You can use a fixed coordinate, a city/region, or a synthetic route capped at realistic movement speeds.
Fast path: use the Chrome extension today
Load unpacked
Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer Mode, click Load unpacked, and select the chrome-extension folder.
Set profile
Open extension Options, enter your privacy latitude/longitude, expected VPN region, and turn on the VPN/IP watchdog.
Android setup today
1. Check compatibility
Most Android phones can try Lite mode. Recent unlockable Pixels are the best Advanced beta target; selected OnePlus, Nothing, Fairphone, Motorola, Xiaomi/Poco, and LineageOS-supported models can be added over time. iPhone users can follow VPN/browser guidance but not native phone-wide location replacement.
2. Enable Lite mode
Use Android Developer Options → Select mock location app for the initial APK-only path. The APK is the next build artifact; this guide prepares the phone.
3. Lock VPN
Install a VPN, choose a nearby region, then enable Always-on VPN and Block connections without VPN.
