Partial protection
Some pieces are active, but setup is incomplete — for example VPN is connected but lockdown is not confirmed.
At risk
VPN disconnected, public IP changed, IP region mismatched, mock provider disabled, or the app cannot send alerts.

Android
Use Android's native Always-on VPN + Block connections without VPN as the real traffic block. The app should show red alerts and pause privacy-location confidence when VPN drops or setup is incomplete.
Chrome extension
The extension can warn on public-IP changes and region mismatch. Next improvement: optional red warning banner on pages while risk state is active.
Customer checklist
Before saying “Protected,” require location profile, VPN connected, lockdown confirmed, notifications enabled, and the right install mode configured.
Setup checklist
- Select privacy location/profile.
- Choose a VPN provider and nearby region.
- Enable Always-on VPN.
- Enable Block connections without VPN.
- Enable notifications for alerts.
- Install Chrome extension if browser protection is desired.
- Run device check and confirm install mode.
Regional relay participation
A future crowd-style regional relay can only be an explicit opt-in feature. It should never silently use a customer's phone, network, or VPN connection. Customers must understand bandwidth/data impact, provider terms, and that relay participation is separate from the basic VPN watchdog and location privacy features.
